Rhinoplasty at Dr. Mughni’s chambers in Dhanmondi is quoted in a range of BDT 45,000 to BDT 120,000. Where a case falls in that range depends on complexity, whether the approach is open or closed, the anaesthesia used and whether the surgery is a first operation or a revision. The final figure is set at consultation, never before.

A rhinoplasty quote follows an assessment of your nose, your breathing and what you want changed. Consultations are available at both Dhanmondi chambers, and appointments can be arranged through the practice contact page.
How much does rhinoplasty cost in Bangladesh?
Rhinoplasty, surgery that reshapes the nose for appearance or for breathing, is quoted between BDT 45,000 and BDT 120,000 at Dr. Mughni’s chambers.
That is a published range, not a fixed price, and the spread is wide for a reason. A limited tip plasty and a full structural procedure involving osteotomies and grafting are different operations that happen to share a name. The range covers the procedures performed here: tip plasty, hump reduction, primary open rhinoplasty and primary closed rhinoplasty. Revision cases sit outside it and are addressed separately below.
Patients comparing figures across Dhaka should be careful about what each number represents. A quoted price means very little until you know what sits inside it, which is why the section that follows matters more than the number itself.
What the quoted range includes, and what it does not
The range covers the surgical event itself. Consumables and inpatient charges are billed separately.
| Inside the quoted range | Billed separately |
|---|---|
| Surgeon fee | Medications |
| Operating theatre charge | Bed rent, if admission is required |
| Anaesthesia | Pre-operative investigations |
Pre-operative investigations such as blood work, ECG and anaesthesia clearance are carried out at a diagnostic centre, and the total depends on which centre performs them. No figure is published here because it is not the practice’s figure to publish.
Procedures are performed at the chamber and at the admitting hospital. The band above holds across both settings, with minor variation rather than a step change.
Why does rhinoplasty cost more for some patients than others?
Five variables move a case within the range, and they are clinical variables rather than commercial ones.
Complexity. A nose that is deviated, previously fractured or asymmetric takes longer and often needs grafting. In one published Dhaka hospital series of rhinoplasty and septorhinoplasty operations, the commonest reason for the deformity being corrected was injury sustained during sport.
Technique. An open approach gives access for precise grafting and tip control. A closed approach suits more limited correction and leaves no external incision. The choice follows the anatomy, not the budget.
| Open approach | Closed approach | |
|---|---|---|
| Incision | Small external incision across the columella | All incisions inside the nostrils |
| Best suited to | Structural work, grafting, tip control | More limited correction |
| Operating time | Longer | Shorter |
Anaesthesia. General anaesthesia with full monitoring costs more than local anaesthesia with sedation, and it is required for longer or more structural cases. This is one of the larger single swings between the bottom and the top of the range.
Length of stay. Some cases go home the same day. Others need a night, at which point bed rent applies.
Primary or revision. Operating on a nose for the second time is a different undertaking, discussed next.
There is also an anatomical point specific to this patient population, and it feeds directly into operative planning. Nasal morphology in Bangladesh is not uniform. Anthropometric work carried out at Rangpur Medical College and published in Mediscope in 2015 found a predominantly narrow nasal index among Bengali adult men, which sits awkwardly against the assumption that every South Asian rhinoplasty is a bridge augmentation. That study measured men only, so it describes part of the picture rather than all of it. The practical consequence holds either way: some patients here need reduction and straightening while others need support and projection, and those are different operations that land at different points in the range.
Why is revision rhinoplasty quoted separately?
Revision cases are quoted after assessment rather than from the published band, because the tissue behaves differently the second time.
Scar tissue from previous surgery changes the plane the surgeon works in, cartilage that would normally be used for grafting may already be gone, and donor cartilage may have to be taken from the ear or rib. Ultrasound studies comparing primary and revision rhinoplasty have found the nasal soft-tissue envelope to be measurably thicker after revision, with swelling that settles more slowly across the first postoperative year. Longer operating time, more grafting and a longer recovery all sit behind the higher figure.
If you are considering a second operation, what changes in a second nasal operation is covered in more detail on its own page.
What does a consultation cost, and how is payment arranged?
The consultation is where the operation is decided. The first consultation is charged separately from the procedure and is not waived when surgery is booked.
| Chamber | Consultation fee |
|---|---|
| EKAGRA Health, Dhanmondi | BDT 1,200 |
| Cosmetic Surgery Centre, Satmasjid Road | BDT 1,500 |
Payment for surgery is taken in stages rather than as a single upfront sum, typically at booking, on the day of surgery and after the operation. Cash, credit card and bank transfer are all accepted.
The practice does not operate an EMI or bank financing arrangement, and health insurance is not accepted for these procedures. For patients flying in rather than living locally, considerations for patients travelling to Bangladesh for surgery are set out separately.
How Dr. Mughni approaches pricing a case
Dr. Chowdhury Rashedul Mughni’s stated position on operating is: “Always a pre-operative discussion with the patient is a must to task for me.”
Patients in Dhaka often arrive with a photograph of someone else’s nose. The discussion starts by mapping what their own anatomy can support and what it cannot, and that mapping is what sets the figure. Two people with the same complaint can need different operations, which is why a number given over the phone before anyone has examined the nose is not a real number.
That discussion covers what can be changed, what should not be, and what the recovery will actually feel like. He works toward preserving natural structure rather than imposing a template nose. He is also direct about the early weeks. The splint stays on for the first week, and the nose that appears when it comes off is swollen, firm to the touch, and larger than the one that was planned. Patients who expect that are far less alarmed by it than patients who were not told.
He makes a practical point about having the operation at home. The surgery happens where you live, and follow-up is available whenever it is needed rather than requiring a flight. His training and registration are set out on his professional background.
Frequently asked questions
How much does rhinoplasty cost in Bangladesh?
Rhinoplasty is quoted between BDT 45,000 and BDT 120,000 at Dr. Mughni’s Dhanmondi chambers. The range reflects genuine differences between procedures, from a limited tip refinement to a full structural operation with grafting. Your own figure is confirmed after assessment, since it depends on your anatomy and what needs correcting.
What is included in the quoted price?
The quoted range covers the surgeon fee, the operating theatre charge and anaesthesia. Medications, bed rent if you are admitted overnight, and pre-operative investigations are billed separately. Investigation costs depend on the diagnostic centre used, so no fixed figure is published for them here.
Why does revision rhinoplasty cost more?
A second operation works through scar tissue, often with less cartilage available, so grafts may need to be taken from the ear or rib. Published ultrasound studies show a thicker soft-tissue envelope and slower resolution of swelling after revision. Revision cases are therefore quoted individually rather than from the published range.
Do I have to pay the full amount before surgery?
Payment is taken in stages rather than as a single upfront sum, usually at booking, on the day of surgery and after the operation. Cash, credit card and bank transfer are accepted. There is no EMI or bank financing arrangement in place, and health insurance is not accepted for these procedures.
How long before I see the final result?
Most swelling settles over the first few months, but the nose continues to refine across roughly the first year. Where the skin envelope is thick, or where the case is a revision, published measurements show swelling persisting longer. Waiting out that year is part of the recovery.
Is rhinoplasty cheaper outside Bangladesh?
Patients pricing the procedure abroad should weigh more than the surgical fee. Flights, accommodation and time away from work add to the total, and revision or complication management becomes difficult at distance. Having the operation in Dhaka keeps follow-up available whenever it is needed, without booking travel to attend it.
Rhinoplasty is not a purchase made from a price list. The range on this page is honest about what the operation costs here, and the consultation is where that range narrows to a figure that fits your nose. Wider background on technique, candidacy and recovery is set out on the main rhinoplasty page. When you are ready to have your own case assessed, you can arrange a consultation at either chamber.
