Born in 1980 to parents serving in the Bangladesh Army Medical Core, Dr. Chowdhury Rashedul Mughni grew up immersed in a culture of service and discipline. From an early age, he was inspired by the idea of healing and helping others, which laid the foundation for his future in medicine.
Dr. Rashed completed his secondary education at Cumilla Cadet College in 1998. Driven by his passion for medicine, he enrolled at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), where he began his formal medical education and worked steadily toward achieving his lifelong ambition of becoming a physician.
In 2004, Dr. Rashed graduated with distinction, earning his MBBS degree after five years of rigorous study at AFMC. During his internship at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH), he discovered a strong aptitude for surgery—a field requiring sound clinical judgment, precision, and compassion—shaping his future career path.
Motivated by his growing interest in surgery, Dr. Rashed pursued advanced training at some of Bangladesh’s most prestigious institutions, including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). These experiences refined his surgical skills and strengthened his academic foundation.
Dr. Rashed continued his surgical career at BIRDEM General Hospital, where his dedication and clinical excellence earned recognition. In 2013, he successfully passed the MRCS examination, becoming a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He later attained MRCS (England and Edinburgh) and the prestigious Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in 2024.
With a deepening interest in reconstructive procedures, Dr. Rashed received specialized training in Burn and Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery from Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS). In 2020, he achieved a major milestone by earning his FCPS in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).
Throughout his FCPS fellowship, Dr. Rashed developed expertise in complex reconstructive surgeries and comprehensive burn management. His commitment to continuous learning led him to pursue additional training in hand surgery in Singapore and earn a Fellowship in Diabetic Foot Management (FDFM) from the Indian Podiatry Association (IPA).
As a pioneer at Bangladesh’s first comprehensive foot care center, Dr. Chowdhury Rashedul Mughni has played a leading role in advancing diabetic foot care. Known for his patient-centered approach and compassionate practice, his professional journey reflects perseverance, innovation, and an enduring commitment to surgical excellence in Bangladesh and beyond.
